Ingredients

UTENSILS



  • 12-inch skillet
  • 8 quart kettle
  • colander
  • 2 quart shallow rectangular baking dish


Noodles



  • 2 8 oz. boxes lasagna (12 unbroken noodles)
  • 4 qts water
  • 1 Tbs. oil
  • 1 Tbs. salt


Sauce



  • 1 lb Italian sweet sausages
  • 1 lb lean ground chuck
  • 3 Tbs. olive oil
  • 1 (2-lb, 3oz.) can whole, peeled, Italian plum tomatoes
  • 2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
  • 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
  • 3 cloves garlic, peeled and minced
  • 1 small bay leaf
  • 1 tsp. oregano
  • 1/2 tsp basil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1 (8 oz.) container of Ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup (4 oz. chunk) grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 (8oz.) package Mozzarella (if you buy mozzarella in chunk form, slice it as thinly and evenly as you can.)
