Ingredients


  • 2 1/2 pounds potatoes (preferably baking potatoes)
  • 1 large or 2 small onions
  • 2 eggs lightly beaten
  • 1 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • 3 tablesppons sour cream (may be omitted if desired)
  • 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/4 cup matzoh meal (or 2 -3 tablespoons flour - but matzoh meal is best)
  • Vegetable Oil
  • Applesauce or Sour Cream to serve
